I worked with this fabulous client recently (big brand, luxury… terrifyingly French but actually really lovely).
You know, I’m quite happy doing a bit of luxe glamour but there does always need to be a bit of wonkiness. I think maybe it draws your attention to the beauty of the flowers.
It’s the cracks that let in the light, after all.
I worked up different designs for this client’s perfume launch party. In the end there were custom sprayed vases that echoed the perfume bottle with the most P E R F E C T white roses and there were shed-loads of hydrangeas as big as my head. All high above the London skyline at the Mondrian Hotel’s Rumpus Room.
I wanted to inject some personality into the huge hydrangea arrangements and inspiration came, as it so often does, through the medium of Ru Paul.
Hydrangea Big-Hair Realness
Thanks so much to the Art Director Rosa Maggiora and the deadly chic team at OBO London for having me.
