Normally, colour is one of the last elements I think about. It’s probably line, then texture, maybe even smell before colour.
But two lovely blog posts inspired me today and got me thinking about the colour combinations I am drawn to. Juliette McKee writing about bouquet colour palates and Saipua explaining awe-inspiring things about colour….The Saipua post includes an amazing short film about a lobster…. Seriously, go and watch it.
It’s interesting how flat and unemotional colour swatches feel compared to their real life bustling, layered, textural flower counterparts. And isn’t it weird to think that the colour we see is the light that is not absorbed by the object; the colour that it is, in fact, not. Whoa, dude.
