Two very different winter arrangements.
A white and green one with fat Amaryllis, paperwhites so scented they make you feel drowsy like Dorothy in the poppy field, pristine white ranunculus and some beautiful grey Cypress branches – smelling good and festive. Not forgetting my current crushes: thistles, wax flowers and twisted willow. All from Quince in Brighton (gorgeous as ever) apart from the twisted willow which I robbed.
And then this one, for someone else. Dark and wild and stormy. More Amaryllis (the thin one is fabulously called Merengue according to this post by Peartree Flowers.)
The shape is another recurring theme for me at the moment. Reminds me of a big old Victorian bird wing mourning hat or some dramatic creation by Alexander McQueen.
Or the incredible work by these people: Roadkill Couture by EatonNott.
Enjoying people’s creativity today and this wonderful blog found via a Google images search for “Victorian bird wing mourning hat”: The French Mouse.
