Yesterday I got to hang out with some seriously inspiring florists at a workshop run by the gorgeous Lotte and Bloom and Kat Flower from New York. There was food by the coolest project Gourmandizing London who hosted the workshop and for a minute there I felt like I was in bloody Brooklyn or something. Super cool people doing really inspiring work.
It was amazing. The flowers were amazing, the food was amazing, the people were wonderful, it was SO MUCH FUN. I met brilliant, like-minded people and we talked excitedly about Amy Merrick and Saipua and all those other people we love. I met another favourite of mine, Susanne from the Blue Carrot in Cornwall and made some lovely new friends!
All that and I got to take home my arrangement, the vase, the flower frog and a vicious flower knife signed by Kat. Lucky, lucky me.
The flowers made it home and I had a lovely time playing around with them this afternoon.
I love the mix of late summer flowers with the oak, the berried eucalyptus, the dark lisianthus and the black-red dahlia. The dahlia is hardly visible in the photo but it’s there: a moody shadow. I love it next to those jaunty white campanulas.
Later on, the sun shone beautifully through the roses.
Hi Ella. Great to see the pictures, it was such an inspiring time there. You have redone yours? It looks good. So lovely to have meet you xxx
