It was so unbelievably beautiful on the Downs yesterday. It lifted the spirits to ‘over excited / slightly drunk’ (I wasn’t actually drunk, that would have been really bad). It was just lovely.
I ducked into lanes and lay-bys and snipped ivy, blossom branches and budding leaves. I only took a tiny bit in each place, only where it was growing wild and only where there was masses so I feel no remorse. There is such an abundance that it feels right to take some and really appreciate it. When you are up close, each bud and flower is a thing of beauty that you just don’t appreciate as you drive past. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it…..
With my swag, I made a bouquet for dad’s birthday with some very elegant greeny pink tulips and black dill and I filled up a huge vase with branches that will become a fabulous indoor tree as they open up.
